The 15th home opener here in Winnipeg is tonight and the Jets hit the ice in the same configuration we’ve seen for awhile.

Which means Winnipegger Jonathan Toews should be making his Jets regular season debut.

Jeff Malott’s disallowed goal from last season was an absolute beauty, but given how many times he’s scored while being in front of a goalie, maybe it’s appropriate that this was his first ever NHL goal.

Congrats to the former Jets/Moose forward on achieving this milestone.

Kevin Weekes shared a story from the playoffs about how a Jets player raved to him about how well the organization in Winnipeg treated them.

Said the guy indicated outside of an original 6 team he (and his family) had never been treated that well.

A much smaller group on the ice today for Manitoba which I suspect means a number of guys are off to Norfolk to join the ECHL affiliate.
