You're doing it wrong.

Her principles are way too ambiguous to have any real meaning.

7. Journalism that embraces a wide spectrum of views and voices so that the audience can contend with the best arguments on all sides of a debate.

Good people on both sides? Jew will not replace us? Are those worthy of embrace?

Amelia Earhart has an OnlyFans page too! I wonder how many FBI agents will find that on their computers and digital media?

Maybe the thing to point out is that Roger Ailes had even less news experience than Bari Weiss.
icengineer.bsky.social
What if the plan is to change CBS News, which isn't so profitable, into a competitor to Fox News, which is highly profitable? Why wouldn't Bari be the perfect person to run that?

The commerce clause prevents states from enacting laws that would interfere with trade across state lines. California can't refuse products from Texas.
icengineer.bsky.social
Cars do, no matter where they are built. The question is, what if it only applied to cars built in Texas?
icengineer.bsky.social
I think it would! Imagine if California passed a law requiring Texas beef to meet more stringent requirements than beef from other states? Or levied a special tax on Teslas built in Texas?
icengineer.bsky.social
Wouldn't the commerce clause prevent Texas-company-specific regulations intended specifically to interfere with Texas companies?
icengineer.bsky.social
Well, that's where it ends up, anyway.

Very helpful! It's been hard to read descriptions of the characteristics of fascism, which can seem pretty ambiguous, and compare them to the current day. Your table makes it clear that we aren't there yet, and more importantly, what we should be watching for.

Didn't this happen just a few months ago, at Ft. Bragg?

At Fort Bragg, Donald Trump crossed a dangerous line. Where are the generals who should be speaking up in defense of the military's rules and traditions, asks @RadioFreeTom?
The Silence of the Generals
As President Donald Trump crossed a dangerous line at Fort Bragg, the Army’s brass failed to speak out in its defense.

For months, or maybe years, I've heard over and over again that officers take an oath to the constitution, and that this would never happen. Yet here, for the second time (remember Ft. Bragg?) they have shown that the oath means nothing.

We cannot rely on the military to do the right thing.

Yeah, sure. Back in June Trump gave a speech at Ft. Bragg that followed the same script, with the screened Trump-supporting troops standing behind him cheering and booing whatever Trump told them to. Not one of the troops, their commanders, or the president, has been disciplined.

Flipped? Maybe that's who they were all along.

His approval is actually at 243%, which everyone who knows he cut drug prices by 1500% already knows. He's just so modest he only claims 65%.

I owned two cats. They were quite sentient. I was not a slave owner or a slaver.
icengineer.bsky.social
I wonder how many of them beat other goon's wives?
icengineer.bsky.social
Yes, but you see, when that was written presidents only lived to be 53 years old, so clearly the framers meant that any president older than 53 should be considered dead.
icengineer.bsky.social
Just a"douche canoe?" He's at least a"douche dinghy," and maybe even a "douche skiff."

Why is Residence Farm income nearly double that of Intermediate Farm income? My mental model would suggest that residence farms are smaller than intermediate farms. Is that wrong?
icengineer.bsky.social
I'm not sure what the right approach is, but trying to be "just like Trump and Miller, but from the left" seems like the wrong one. Maybe something like vigorously defending our universities from right wing attacks would be better than "we'll make your life even worse than they will."

I don't know the cause, but this quarter's profits for refiners of California's special gasoline blends are going to be higher than average.
