Class differentiates by what you « have ». Caste differentiates by what you « are ».
When we think of the world through relations (comme chez Spinoza), class-caste blends into a cohesive dynamic of stratifying (human) bodies: class through external relations and caste through internal relations.

Colonialism (as a historical event) is inseparable from mercantile capitalism. Coloniality (as a structure if power, Quijano 2020) is inseparable from capitalism.

If intelligibility is conceived as that of an object, only the past can be intelligible because the unfolding present as a process cannot be reduced to a fixed and stable object.

savior/savoir. It's funny how close the words are visually: how they both present themselves as the one who will rescue us. But perhaps they are more like a pharmakon, poison and cure à la fois. Perhaps... more of the poison: the denial of life to create dead reason that comes back to deny our life.

I don't use they/them pronouns (only) because I'm agender/genderqueer but also because I'm not a singular subject, I'm multiple, a collectivist of agents in a body.

L'amour est un mélange de corps, qui peut être répresenté par un coeur percé d'une flèche, par une union des âmes, etc.; mais la déclaration «je t'aime» exprime un attribut non corporel des corps, de l'amant comme de l'aimé.

Deleuze and Guattari, Mille-Plateaux, 103.

Don't carry the entire state of discourse on your shoulders, babe. That stuff is really heavy.

Yesterday, a friend told me that in Portuguese, they use the phrase "Indian line" to describe a single file. Today, I encountered the same phrase in French, in Quatre Heures à Chatila by Jean Genet: "une file indienne".

Idk what their thinking is but Indians don't really stand in line.

L'amour et la vie ne paraissent individuels sur la terre que parce que tout y est rompu par des vibrations d'amplitude et de durée diverses.

Some things just unlock a distant forgotten pasts of your life. Like how rewatching True Detective reminded me that I first tried Camel Blues because of Matthew McConaughey's character smoking them and now they're my regular order 🫠 a forgotten origin story has been resurrected, if you will.

It's funny that we say "person of color" like white is not a color and like race is some inherent biological attribute lmfao.

Maybe we should say "racialized" to highlight the very real, institutionalized social processes that "mark" non-white people with race markers in order to subjugate them!

Have you noticed that the "alienation caused by colonial legacy" discussions coming from Indian/Pakistanis is always about things like English and never about things like Chai?

"You traded your freedom for the luxury of feeling superior"

The Wave (1981; www.youtube.com/watch?v=D55L...) is a film that documents the experiment "The Third Wave" (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thi... ) that explores how the German public came to accept the actions of the Nazi regime. Thrilling.
