Navigating the ever-growing number of #OpenResearch projects is tough. It's easy for projects to fly under the radar.
Good news! We just launched ICOR's Open Research Beacon (ORB)- the searchable, central hub for the global open research movement! 1/2

NEW POST: NIH explores capping APCs: Let’s look at the evidence! We used data of NIH funded from 2025, and found that APCs for a few as 7% journals (or 6% of papers) would be fully covered by a $2K cap, 25% of journals (or 21% of papers) by a $3K cap. Read more! www.scholcommlab.ca/2025/09/03/n...

My comment about open research and qualitative methods is out! I argue that open research needs to take seriously the notion that "rigour" looks different for different methods and can learn from qualitative traditions. It feels very apt to be at #QMIP2025 for this publication day rdcu.be/evEpk

Like the parable of the elephant in the dark, those of us working #scholcomms point to different issues depending on our role and what parts of the system we touch.

What happens if we turn on lights and examine the complete picture?

Systematic problems require large scale systematic solutions: we need convergence - Stratos
Scholarly communication doesn’t work well enough for enough stakeholders. But why is that, exactly? What are the root causes? How do these point to solutions?

We’ve arrived here, and just in time for #Metascience2025. For those who don’t know us, our goals are to collect data on the impact of open research policies and practices and connect open research to improved collaboration and outcomes. Say hi to @mmmarksman.bsky.social in London to find out more!
