so thats how i almost fucked up a several hundred dollar cpu, fixed it, then called myself Descartes the way me thinking of the idea to fix it so made me the realest in the room

and so i, a stress ridden fucking mess who was missing her umamusume dailies, sat there with a pocket knife bending cpu pins back into place for well over an hour. i sat in vc with a few friends while doing this and they could probably tell i was on the verge of crying like a few times lmao

i accidentally dropped it onto the motherboard which bent 5 cpu pins. THIS WAS THANKFULLY ONE OF THE BETTER OUTCOMES OF DROPPING THIS CPU

this cpu was a Ryzen 9 5900X. that is expensive. if i had lost a single cpu pin i would be out hundreds of dollars for a new 1 or a lot of time getting it fixed

part of my motherboard + no isopropyl alcohol would get on anything its not supposed to be because i was using 70% isopropyl and was worried the 30% water or whatever would explody my pc.

but none of that fucking matters when you drop your cpu on the pins now does it.
