Yeah, the energy transition in central and eastern Europe is well underway, but it's not nearly as fast or coherent as it should've been. The same govovernments are actively procrastinating coal exits and aggressively push for fossil gas expansion. www.reuters.com/business/ene...

Finally managed to visit this monument, dedicated to the last aurochs, hunted outside Warsaw nearly 400 years ago.
Since we're well into the 6th mass extinction, there must be some memorialization for other bygone species, right?

Also, difficult to tell whether the plant's shutdown was guided by a just transition process. There's plenty on technology - even renewables (bar wind energy) - but hardly anything about the women and men who used to work there.
