Same here! My first introduction to them was a random tumblr user promoting them

HAHA yep! I was part of their kickstarter

If you’d like to know my all time favorite Indie animated project, it’s this show. I’ve been obsessed with it since I was in high school and view it as a huge inspiration for me as an artist and storyteller. Please check it out!

Tales of Alethrion is such a painfully underrated gem. It’s a masterclass in animation and wordless storytelling.

Also check out my girls.

i mean no offense but you're just arguing about something i never insinuated. obviously this was not about people who redesign a drawing because they think the artist is a bad person (which again, rarely never happens).
idolomantises.bsky.social
1) you're doing the thing i'm complaining about
2) most artists dont do redesigns out of bad faith. bad faith are those redesigns rooted in racism/misogyny/etc. an artist doing a redesign for the sake of criticism or improving the OG design is not in bad faith.

thats like one of my biggest pet peeves lmao

"oh well i wouldnt hate redesigns if artists didnt call it fixing" most artists dont. and you still get mad. so what now.

dont even get me started lol. i personally agreed with a lot of complaints but overall it didnt hinder my enjoyment of the movie, but ive seen people call youtubers PRO ZIONIST for criticizing the film.
idolomantises.bsky.social
honestly i have to admit it was really hard not to say "yes i agree some people are way too hard on queer creators but also you people behave like rabid dogs over mild criticism. so both of yall are annoying"
idolomantises.bsky.social
tbh its a theory i believe in as well. a lot of people are are very terminally online, lonely and badly want some kind of connection, so the media they like becomes that thing for them

so instead of critiquing the art, you are directly attacking the person
idolomantises.bsky.social
i like how media criticism has to be pr trained or else you're accused of being rude. really cool.
idolomantises.bsky.social
same. like oh my goodness, i cannot believe there are people who treat the media they like like its a fucking religion. not questioning, no critique or you're accused of being a hater. how miserable! i like critique and discussion, its fun!
idolomantises.bsky.social
who gives a shit. let artists make their bad art.

people will make "fix it" fics, and videos rewriting how they'd make a story to improve on its failures, but for some reason redesigns are treated as like this irredeemable sin that all fandoms should be banned from doing.
idolomantises.bsky.social
the concept of fans being anti-redesign is always so funny to me. Oh no, someone did a reinterpretation of a design for fun or a form a critique. the horror.

Went back and touched up Aaron's design again.

LMAO dw about it. its like the most random thing
idolomantises.bsky.social
i dont feel bad. i just think its comical in a disappointed "christ you people will tolerate literal racism and rape apologia from queer stories but draw the line at being kind of cringe" kind of way.

thats intentional, i wanted the clothes to blend in with the body rather than make it clear that its a separate outfit
