Israel left Gaza in 2005 and Hamas took over. Instead of using billions in aid on infrastructure, food and healthcare, they spent it on tunnels and missiles to kill Israeli citizens. Israel has no choice to protect their border and Egypt also closed their border with Gaza because they fear Hamas too
