yeah the basic mechanic behind this would be the change in collisions between 2d and 3d which pushes mario horizontally.
in this case it's 2d to 3d but you can see the change in x/z position probably caused by pushed by the background wall

you sometimes float just a little bit while flipping and being pushed.
I don't know what makes this happen but probably it depends on coordinates.
jumping from this state immediately gives you 3.0 x speed so this saves a few frames to accelerate.

getting naneinf in unseeded run has been added to CE and I learned that getting naneinf without perkeo is not extremely difficult so I might go for it sometime soon

and I've realized that I didn't have to do this 3500-ish advances just in the previous room.
more optimal thing I can do here is to split those 3500-ish advances onto every room up to Room 36.

so the previous plan is to find some other RNG or a way to advance RNG much faster, but both are not realistic.
