The immediate task is a report for the 2026 Review Conference. But the real responsibility is to unify efforts towards a concrete, legally binding framework. Civilians cannot afford further delays.

The mandate of the GGE is “to further consider and formulate, by consensus, a set of elements of an instrument… to address emerging technologies in the area of LAWS.” A report is due to the 2026 CCW Review Conference.
