It's frightfully no PC these days, but I've always loved A Funny thing happened on the way to the forum. I saw Nathan Lane in Bway revival. The Richard Lester directed movie is fun as a time capsule

That would actually work in a Rome, Italy McDonalds. Bar was in the front for the adults while McDonaldLand was for the kids was in the back. Very civilized

All the best to your mum. My dad was 10 when the war broke out. He and his brother were evacuated to stay with family in Scotland. I've seen his school copybooks with the story of the shot down German bomber being trucked off to be melted down to make a Spitfire !

IIRC the Laserwriter combined with the Mac created the "desktop publishing" craze Xerox PARC had envisioned in 1976, but couldn't get the copier guys attention.

Part of IBM's ineptitude was due to the death of Don Estridge at DFW in a microburst down draft. He'd built PC division as an agile development group. Successors tried to treat PCs as little mainframes. PS/2 and micro channel were the failed result
