The companies we got quotes from warned that radiator heat is way more comfortable than “air heat” 🤔
ileanabeta.bsky.social
Fascinating. I wonder what it would look like to get a heat pump that would power our radiators? I wonder if that’s a thing I could get here in the US?
ileanabeta.bsky.social
We would do the whole house humidifier which is appealing to me too.
Did you switch from radiator heat to air heat?
ileanabeta.bsky.social
Thanks! We’d be switching from oil and boiler system with radiators to using the air ducts for heating too. 4 out of 6 companies that came to give us quotes warned about the less comfortable feeling we’d get with the switch…
ileanabeta.bsky.social
We are very close to getting a heat pump (just need to sign the top ) but need a bit more info. My husband and I are on different sides of the fence on this decision right now!

Hey Bluesky!
Who here has a heat pump in their home? Can you tell me a bit about your winters and if you’re comfortable and how dry the air gets? #energysky

Amazing!! ☀️ way to go California! Would love to see the east coast meet or exceed this pace. #solar

"At this pace, CA will be 100% [clean energy] 24/7/365 by 2035."

And we're barely even trying! Imagine what California (or anywhere) could do if all leaders actually called out the danger of fossil fuels, ended subsidies, and made the biggest polluters actually pay for the damage they've done.

179th day of the year that the California ISO grid WindWaterSolar supply exceeds 100% of demand for part of the day.

CA is meeting 55.9% of all demand this year with WWS, vs 51.7% in 2024 and 47.1% in 2023. At this pace, CA will be 100% WWS 24/7/365 by 2035.

Gas is down 20% vs '24 & 38% vs '23

Turn off any extra lights at night! Help birds along their migration routes. #birdsky

YOU can be a bird hero: dim or turn off unnecessary lighting from 11pm-6am every night & treat the outside of your windows with repeating patterns spaced no more than 2x2 inches apart so birds see glass as a barrier. Amazing!! I love Boneset. Had a Lesser Boneset appear in my yard as a volunteer and it too attracted large parties of pollinators!

The bees are loving the flowering Cup Plant! They seem to like resting or sleeping on it too.

Next week it is time to #ShowYourStripes again.

We encourage everyone to download their warming stripes graphics and use them to start climate conversations on Friday 20th and Saturday 21st June.

The Warming Stripes have now been extended downwards into the ocean and upwards into the stratosphere!

Collaborative paper which tells the story of how the stripes were developed, and discusses their extension across the Earth system, is now available in BAMS: journals.ametsoc.org/view/journal...
