the wildest thing is right-wingers acting like minnesotans in videos must be outside agitators when we can all hear their accents. i don't think i could do that accent convincingly if i spent a year practicing. and neither would i wish to. have you heard that shit? craziest american accent

Last night's Bad Art For Good event was *incredible*.

We had ~100p people come out to connect with each other, commiserate over the times we're living through, and make ART!

We folded zines, we distributed ice whistles, we ate a LOT of cupcakes, 10/10, would host events in LA again.

Delete Spotify
In April 2024, Spotify implemented a new scheme: songs with less than 1k streams per year would no longer receive royalties.

The data for 2025 was just released via Luminate, and 88% of songs have been demonetized.

Read it again: 88% of songs on Spotify have been demonetized.

This is the thing you should be building today. Talk to your neighbors. Get a signal rapid response channel going. It's okay if it starts small. Have something ready that people can join when the need arises. Get the lines of communication open. That way, when ICE comes, you're ready.

Getting a lot of messages. A lot are like "Can I come help?" (appreciated, but unless you know the area very well, probably not THAT useful) or "Can I send money?" (not to me, please).

But the best ones are like "I want to build what you guys have back in my home city." YES, DO THAT. DO IT NOW.

Ok I submitted my pages, sketches, book map, etc to my publisher, and even if it took one zillion hours I still feel like it wasn’t enough and I am POOPED so I’m pretending to be a literal potato on the couch until I feel better.

It's a Linne's Cicada, originally for #invertober2024.

I fell off the Invertober train in 2024 when it got near the end. Started on this Linne's Cicada and could not finish the colour! So while I'm in a rut, decided to pick this one back up again to complete it.

If you're like "man I wish events I attended had more WORKsheets" well you can rest assured our event will have a worksheet. Nobody has ever asked me for a worksheet with their beer but I'm giving you some anyway.

Here's the first set of locations where 2026 seed posters will be. We got WAY better spread across the city than last year thanks to volunteers across the city throwing their hat in the ring.

Wednesday we'll be making the native plant packets that these stations will distribute! luma.com/sgn1d246

To recap- I posted musing about whether I should get ICE whistles for distro @ upcoming events.

Within 30 min I had 3 ppl volunteering to 3d print some & @mostlybree.kitrocha.com who has been running a whole squad of whistle makers, 1 of whom is now bringing 150 whistles for our event TOMORROW.
January 15, 2026 at 3:58 AM
Idk if it's reasonable to try to source some of those 3d printed ice whistles for the Bad Art for Good event attendees coming up or if other cities need them more. Philly's been pretty quiet so far.

Hey so we all know how to print and fold a zine right?

In case we have an internet outage and won’t be able to look up how to do it.

Maybe practice for me a few times tonight just in case. Just to make me feel better.

Why do I feel like I’m covered in a fine dust whenever I’m in
LA?

Look I know Philly is a stanky old dumpster of a city but I’m ready to return. I feel like a bat flying in the daytime out here. Get me back in a dark cold rowhome with my cats.

Visiting Los Angeles is a constant balancing act between hiding from the sun to successfully avoid sunburn and accidentally getting TOO much vitamin D then starting to think I could make it as a jazz dancing star, burnt to a crisp.
