If you are not for abolishing ICE then you are not pushing for real reform and accountability. We have immigration enforcement outside of ICE and can create a better regulated alternative if needed, the same way ICE was created in 2002.

Thank you Senate Gabe. I don't know how I started following you but it helps to read your posts, it is a good sanity check that I am not nuts for my perceptions of Dem ineffectiveness and collusion. My friends are like "but they are in the minooority!" and giving them a pass. It is disappointing.

It was on my radar they would surge here because they want to provoke something so they can justify using the insurrection act. Trump hates Gov. Waltz, it is a place with many immigrants and has a history of aggressive protest (George Floyd). People are being peaceful in their protest so far though.

Just the obvious stuff. Never mind the insider trading that went on with the tariffs being on again off again, I'd like to see that investigated, among other things.

Is it though? As it is, all the democrats looks spineless and oblivious to the seriousness of the situation. And given all of the garbage going through Congress I'd say wasting time is a-okay and they should be doing more of it.

I don't give a damn about the price of coffee. I am primarily worried about our democracy evaporating. Talking about "kitchen table economics" makes democrats look petty in light of what we are facing as a country.

This is a proposal (a terrifying one, because I expect they are going to extend this to citizens travelling out too eventually). There is still time to object. Hopefully tourist industry groups throw some money around to block it (since that seems to be what it takes these days).

The Graeber (and Wengrow) book is good. It almost made me want to teach anthropology again, just so I could use the book in a class. My primary critique is that it did C Crumley dirty, one footnote at the end when they were basically using the same ideas the whole time is bs.

And also, the Dems should feed people! Free pancake breakfasts in impoverished areas instead of attack adds. Hand out donuts at local concerts. Campaign volunteers also working at food banks. The DNC should be committed to doing good things outside of government to demonstrate their values.

And the Great Lakes, so the middle of the country. People forget that as well. Chicago falls within the 100-mile zone that is a maritime border on the Great Lakes. So the border laws apply there too.

They are Christian evangelicals which isn't inherently bad but they invited Bundy to speak in 2019 and then backtracked. They have also had RFK giving an anti vax speech. Sketchy. I was upset when I found out about it, but there are better places to buy seeds (with better germination rates too).

I hate to tell you this... seeds even! it just doesn't end: Baker Creek is known to be very right wing, racist and duplicitous about GMOs in their catalog. They invited Cliven Bundy to speak at one of their open houses.

A citation standard for AI is the least of higher education’s worries.
Studies critiquing AI also need to cite AI, a citation standard is just documentation and I’d rather see more of that with AI related topics/use than less.

To be clear: passing a resolution in MSU faculty senate changes NOTHING about MSU University policy. The MSU administration has not signed onto any mutual aid/collective agreement, and isn't necessarily supporting this action (they haven't said anything). Faculty have little power.
