First read was Dead Horses by Freya JN, INSANELY good, the art and layouts are gorgeous, the worldbuilding is rich, the lesbians tragic. I loved it so much and can't wait to reread. You should follow Freya for her beautiful illustrations as well, definitely excited for whatever she makes next.

Now it’s a work exercise instead. Restructuring a narrative to best effect is one of my favourite editorial collaborations. Rhetorical practice keeps me flexible between projects.

Sometimes awareness is inherently compensatory. This book is poorly structured so the prose is like “aah, I just have to fill the page until everything happens!” So I’m kind of bored. But in noticing the structure problem my fix-it program is opened and runs concurrently, providing stimulation
