David J Peterson’s book is good too. It leans a little harder into the linguistics terminology and concepts and it is a really cool look at his work with TV and movies and his particular methodology.

The online version of the kit is a nice accessible starting point. The book version is a little more in-depth, but the rest of the zompist website offers lots of examples and samples and links as well.

There are a bunch of coders among conlangers, I believe.

I won’t be coding anything, haha, but I figure I could manage to use a spreadsheet.
And hopefully later learn to export it into a format that isn’t butt ugly (as I generally find spreadsheets to be).

I have recently debated putting my lexicon into a spreadsheet. For now, I just write out all my definitions, dictionary style, and make liberal use of ctrl/cmd F.
