A few days ago, they released the Nendo 'officially' in normal shops (like 1999.co.jp which is where I usually buy because they do the customs paperwork xD). The price is much more acceptable (around 40$ + shipping + customs in your country; mine, for example, is 21%). It will end around 65€

It can be bypassed if the companies do the paperwork on their side and make you pay the corresponding VAT when ordering the merchandise, but not every company has it (I buy a lot in Japan, and one of the biggest shops hasn’t even tried to do it... so another lottery here >_<)

Big companies like Aliexpress and Temu could move to have local warehouses and delay the delivery, but other places would be pretty sure a lottery to have the import duties applied.
Last time I ordered without thinking a package of 170€ from Japan, I had to pay 90€ in customs because of the duties

The law supposedly should have entered this year, but they give them an extend to 2026 to try to find a solution... but customs is a very easy way for the countries to make money and 'centralize' in their minds, because 80% of what I buy is not available in my country so...

A new EU legislation that will lower the minimum € to be considered an import. Right now, it is 150€ or less; if it’s more, you may have to pay customs, but not import duties (which are a lot). In January, every package coming from China will be considered an import if it is not processed in origin
