I've been transitioning for a little over two years now, and the few times I've tried interacting with the trans community, I feel like I don't really belong. It doesn't help that my way of communicating is a mystery to even myself.

I've definitely noticed that anytime I buy a book from a trans author on Audible that they start recommending me that kind of stuff as well. Really frustrating.

There's a book titled Transgender History by Susan Stryker. It offers a brief history of what was talked about in the article and some examples of where the trans community landed during the time this happened. So easy to forget trans history even exists, its as if someone is out there silencing us.

Crazy how trans folx can spend the majority of their childhood not even really having any interaction with the trans community or anyone who talks about being trans, but then still figure out that there's something there. Makes you think for a minute, how exactly are kids learning to be trans? 🤔

When I was younger, I didn't really have a proper definition of what being transgender meant. Lots of gatekeeping online. Social stigma certainly didn't help, but if there were resources and less stigma around being trans, I could have figured out who I was a decade sooner. I'm probably not alone.

Yeahhhh I'm gonna start looking into resources. I just came out to my family this year, it kind of feels like the life I'm finally starting to like is being threatened. I've known I was trans for far longer than I've been out, but now it feels like the progress I've made doesn't really matter.

Idk if I agree that the recent ones are great/better, I think Us hit a heartstring that his most recent title didn't really connect on. Still worth watching at least once tho, see for yourself.
