First dates should happen at a grocery store. You can eliminate so many people early on just watching how they shop for items, if they know what said item even is, etc. Beats having to find out they were incompetent later on.

Doing my due diligence as the Second Born helping buy toys for the First Born's Soles4Souls trip because the First Born had to learn about taxes and shake hands with adults instead of playing with yo-yos like me.

One of the places I was thinking of submitting to asked for an author pic on the odd chance of acceptance so I started looking for an appropriate photo, but all my photos are so unserious and I really don't know what I was expecting. My profile pic on this site is me in a box.

The First Born has secretly been buying frozen fish. It's a secret because we grew up by the sea, but don't live there anymore, we like fish, but not over the counter stuff, and if our father found out about all the dishonor we were defrosting, we would never hear the end of it.

Every time I visit my parents I see this brush my father's had since his culinary school days. It's lost a good portion of its bristles, is supported by cardboard on both sides, and is almost the same age as the First Born (approx. 35ish years).

Still traumatized by that one time in high school while waiting for the city bus, someone said, "It smells like the sun?" and everyone tried to find the source of the smell while I had to pretend it wasn't my pasty, sunscreen lathered self.

Maybe the reason girls do that gross thing where they drop their hair everywhere is because they're subconsciously leaving behind evidence they were there, in case they ever go missing.

Creating wax seals for my characters and it's down to the last two, but I got distracted by silk moths and how cute and fluffy and totally domesticated they are and did you know silk moths have lost the ability to fly after years of being bred and also when will the internet stop internetting me?
