There may also be an element of "I trust the NHS to treat me for things not related to transness", broken legs and the like. Whereas the things the BBC still does well aren't quite the same: I don't trust or not trust their drama department; trust is mostly irrelevant to my opinion of it.

I'm trying to think of whether we have the equivalent type in British politics. And I think we do, but they do it in a different way. (Tony Blair still weighs in on contemporary politics, but he does it from outside the HoC.)

British politics over the past few years has been a boon to the 17th US president, who is now neither politics's most embarrassing Andrew or its most embarrassing Johnson.
