The Uniform Code of Military Justice states that orders that are "contrary to the Constitution" or "the laws of the United States," or "patently illegal", are unlawful and must not be obeyed. Following an unlawful order makes the soldier legally and morally responsible for the resulting actions.

My first non-mandated novel read was Insomnia and I've been a @stephenking.bsky.social fan ever since. I hated reading before that. I was 9 and it was quite a change from Huck Finn etc. I'm starting this book now. It's been awhile since my last King book but I need something dark right now.

@johngreensbluesky.bsky.social I just finished Everything is Tuberculosis. The audio version is very well done. Good job John. Non-fiction Green is more heartbreaking than his fiction at times. It feels criminal what's happening both politically right now and in big pharma historically.

@aoc.bsky.social should I just take my family and leave the country? I'm a 43 yr old disabled veteran. I can't work full time due to service connected disability. This country is too expensive. I can live off my VA benefits if I retire to some place like Costa Rica or Malaysia. Seeking hope, Noah.

Can anyone tell me how anyone can look at what is happening and not be least regretful of this choice? The US backing Putin, foreign aid being removed, the VA being further understaffed, Medicare Medicaid and social security being threatened, etc. Is this just a fever dream I'll wake up from?
