On my wishlist is procedural portrait generator. I think this stuff mostly works through drawing lots of face shapes, noses, hair styles etc, and doing a good job in making sure they're all compatible if you swap them out?
Songs of Syx does procedural portraits but it's so smooth idk how.

There's some jank combining Canvas and UIToolKit in Unity when using additive scenes so I had to rip out all my Canvas stuff. So today was figuring out how to make a facing selector in UIToolkit. Secretly it's 4 images swapping out depending where you hover the mouse

I think Deep Impact is the most oddly paced and toned thing I've seen this year. Like a West Wing episode that triggers the whole plot of Armageddon squished into 15 minutes, then with the 45 minutes left we switch to What If Love Actually Was A Disaster Movie with characters you don't really know.

The new Dwarf Fortress siege update is dangerous. So many years I've been off the dwarf sauce because the goblins would shrug and give up at the sight of a raised draw bridge. But now that they can knock walls over, cave in doors, and tunnel, all my elaborate traps are useful! Necessary, even!

Went down a rabbit hole on #deathbylightning on Netflix about the guy who assassinated president Garfield. At one point he gets kicked out of a sex cult, The Oneida Community, who is apparently now still in existence but as one of the largest silverware manufacturers in the world.

Played The Alters + watched The Free State of Jones and my strategic layer clicked. This is a game where you play as deserters hiding in the woods. Build a secret base, raid army warehouses, and free slaves without drawing too much attention from the miltar(ies).

After so many survival games spawned by Minecraft, it is odd to go back to Minecraft and find sort of no survival gameplay loop. There is likely no other game with as mature a world gen full of cool stuff to find, but also...no real need for the stuff.

I've known for a while now that Fettuccine Alfredo was invented specifically for American tourists in Rome, but after spending some times with my nephews it clicked for me that this was literally Italians doing "Fine. I give up. You can have mac and cheese and chicken nuggets for dinner."
