I didn't like the new girl much. Definitely Scorpio.
unfortunately i do judge people that praise Donna Tartt's The Goldfinch because it's still one of the worst books i've ever read in my life and i find it quite surprising that it won such a prestigious award. it's so insufferable and poorly constructed narratively speaking that it made me angry.

i hate when good actors work on shitty projects because i admire their talent but can't help but hate the work they chose to put their efforts on.

#BrigitteBardot was convicted several times for inciting racial hatred in France when she was alive. She does not magically become a good person because she died. How we choose to live determines how we will be remembered when we die.

this is absurd on so many levels!! that's why i still don't understand WHY people refuse to leave that place. what else are they waiting to happen to do it? cause politically and socially speaking, it has done enough damage already.
Nah. Ya'll STILL on Twitter?

worst thing is: i've seen books written and checked by AI tools and they all look like shit, but they get done way faster than they would by human hands, and that's what matters to these people. i left this job interview today feeling bleak and hopeless (as if i wasn't depressed enough already).
December 18, 2025 at 5:09 AM
anyway, quite scary to realize that yes, your job is gonna disappear pretty soon because of AI. lots of books are already being written, checked and reviewed by AI, not to mention the covers. i hate to admit it but they couldn't care less about my degree/work and i'm fucked nonetheless.
December 18, 2025 at 5:07 AM
i mean, why do you even keep a publishing house if everything you're going to do is made by AI? that's insanely horrifying to me. i sat there in silence thinking how fucked up my profession is and how little people actually care about books in general these days.
December 18, 2025 at 5:04 AM
went to a job interview today thinking i was finally going back to my field and left with less hope than when i got in. hearing people openly and proudly talking about using AI for 100% of their work feels like being hit with a hammer 500 times per second.

you know things are shitty for real when even the people at work that seemed okay with whatever was going on "confess" to you that they're planning to leave too. i feel less isolated with my feelings about the store.

i think the scene on The Handmaid's Tale where June gets raped with the help of Serena was one of the WORST things i've ever watched. seriously, it made me cry and feel so rotten inside. the way they show her fear and begging for them both to stop while he gets more aroused by it was horrifying.

Eh, this is unnecessary. Good human writing works on several different levels and extends metaphor from sentence to book. AI can’t and doesn’t do that, because artificial intelligence is not “intelligent,” it’s just automated. It does not, fundamentally, think. Those who think otherwise are deluded.
I think it would be fun if writers who love language started intentionally writing more strangely as AI flattens written "content" into a mono-voice. it would cool I think if writers responded by focusing their individual efforts on cultivating a really unique voice that's hard to copy
