Teaching about Taíno & other Indigenous Caribbean peoples’ cultures from a decolonized perspective is about reclaiming OUR stories and celebrating our strength. It means focusing on our voices, histories, and experiences instead of the false ideas created by colonization. #taino #indigenousCaribbean
Over 500 years ago, Hatuey, a brave Taíno leader, led the resistance against Spanish colonization.
✨ His legacy lives on as a symbol of Indigenous resistance and resilience.

I get it now! That feeling of malaise. What I think many of us r experiencing is a form of grief. Many of us r grieving from the notion that we *may* not recover what we once had in our communities here in the US.

But by restrategizing connecting, & collaborating, we can build a stronger future.

Dear Philly DA Larry Krasner:

Donald Trump just admitted Elon Musk used insider knowledge of vote-counting machines to engineer his victory in PA.

Open an investigation immediately. And yes, you CAN prosecute a sitting president. Because you don't work for DOJ.

We know the fake-saami are fake, because they hate us
Last spring, I was asked by a Saami journalist, live on-air, why the Saami community in Finland does not accept some Saami as a part of our community. On-air, I would simply say ”because they…

There’s widespread misinformation & infantilism of Taino culture among some Taino descendants. Wearing face paint doesn’t “make” someone Taino. True reconnection requires listening & commitment to decolonizing in community.
