Some combination of political junkie, media commentary and goofy randomness. About me: parent, English major, teacher, science and tech nerd, spectacularly humble

The picture is clearly ai generated and not what I look like. I am not a duck.
So there is no useful or interesting information in the files that hundreds of people need 11 months to sift through and still haven't finished. I am glad our current administration was able to read so fast they could accurately make that statement 8 months ago. It's amazing.

The first time I heard of "Silent Spring" was a conservative telling me that it was all over reaction (banning DDT, environmentalism etc).I pointed out that if the research was correct, then the choice was prevent the problem or find out after a bird extinction event. So...1/2

Are you a nerdy humanities major like me? Here is a gentleman explaining why recent movies have felt flat in a very satisfying, heady way. I know many people have felt the loss of immersion in modern tv and cinema. It's not just Tiktok ruining our attention span, but physical changes to filming.

Remember if you replace your marketing department completely with AI, you might lose the person who tells the c-suite it's a bad idea to run a commercial that ruins Xmas.

What the GOP seems to miss is that the massive premium increase in healthcare will crash the economy. 22-24 million people excluding boomers and their parents on medicare is 10% of the country. 10% of working age families are about to lose all their disposable income. This is not rocket science.

California paid $275 billion more in Federal taxes than we got back(~$530 bil —$800 bil total fed tax). Our state budget is about $300 bil with deficits ranging $50-$100 bil. Without paying the federal taxes, we could maintain all services, never run a deficit and have ~$200 billion to spare. Hmm.

Timeline for Hesgeth’s strike:

Sept 2 -boat strike

Nov 18 -Kelly et al video on illegal orders

Nov 28 - Wapo article on illegal order in boat strike

Per article, the reporters were shopping comments all over DC. Congress got wind. It’s not all some huge coincidence. Nice move, Dems.

Well, that’s handy. I cannot exactly cancel Xmas with a 9 year old and his cousins. But I can avoid many of these.

So a judge ruled that Lindsey Halligan never had a job and did not actually do anything. I think her salary and all compensation needs to be returned. I want to get this idea out there, so please like and share, or just rewrite it yourself. Idc.

It has become standard practice for restaurants in San Francisco and Las Vegas to charge hidden fee at checkout from 3% up to 20%. Both areas are claiming massive declines in diners. SF restaurants fought a statewide ban on hidden fees and were exempted. 1/2

So we need to form a sub Dem party a la “the Teaparty” and primary every Senator running in ‘26. Senate leadership needs to go, so rank and file get primaried. Everyone folded.

So easy global warming trivia.

Avg Earth temp ~1960 14C

Avg Earth temp 2010 14.6C

Change in 50 years =4%

On global time scales of billions of years that is (to use a scientific term) horrifically bad. Evolution doesn’t work that fast for plants which rely on heat exchange.

Normally, would not post anything from the Washington Examiner…but they polled every GOP about ending the filibuster. Here’s their graphic. It’s laughably bad for Trump. Also, shockingly solid journalism from WE.

For me, the shutdown is not about healthcare extensions. After, the GOP runs out ways to punish the people most in need of help first, they will run out of money for troops to invade our cities and other countries, for ICE, for their own paychecks. It's a general strike. Let's feed people locally.

Please stop asking Gavin Newsom about running for Pres. He will try. Not a story. Let’s try to avoid a war, foreign or civil, and a rigged election in 2026. Asking about Democratic primaries in 2028 is like asking Elon when Tesla will get FSD.

So Home Depot seems to be letting ICE have free rein. Most items can be purchased easily on Amazon or another hardware store. Direct your traffic away from their stores until they do something. Check the ownership in a pic.

I saw that there’s a call for a general strike over Xmas. So no one is canceling Xmas for their kids. You need maximum pain for businesses and lowest pain for the public. You have picked the maximum pain point for the public. This will be impotent. Try a single day 1st. Is this a GOP false flag?
