Indeed - they know how to do sunsets there.

I was unable not to post some others from the series, because I love them more than is seemly. But anyway, one can never have too much beauty.

A color photograph of a sunset over the ocean, with waves breaking gently against dark, jagged rocks in the foreground. The sky glows with rich amber and orange tones, fading into cooler purples and blues near the horizon. Sunlight reflects off the rippling water, casting a warm shimmer across the sea. Captured on Fujicolor Provia 100 with a Pentax LX and 35mm f/2.8 lens, the image highlights the fine grain, balanced contrast, and vivid yet natural color palette typical of E6 slide film. A color photograph of waves breaking against rugged coastal rocks beneath a soft, cloud-streaked sky. The ocean shimmers in cool blues and greens, with a single wave cresting dramatically near the center of the frame. The sun, partially obscured by thin clouds, casts a gentle glow across the horizon, blending golden and lavender hues. Captured on Fujicolor Provia 100 with a Pentax LX and 35mm f/2.8 lens, the image features fine detail, natural contrast, and the smooth tonal gradation typical of E6 slide film.

I never choose shutter speeds without written permission from Kodak's chief of engineering. That's just common sense.

For best results, expose eleventy stops over, and develop for only five seconds. All the Tubers are doing it.

Thank you! It's a matter of practice, though the LX has a good meter (which obviously makes things much easier). The shots with the Perkeo were the more difficult ones, since it has no meter (and the settings become rather hard to see in the dark). Fuji's slide film is well worth it, IMHO.

Thank you! I was taken in this case by the way the metal failed...it rather looks in spots like weathered wood, but had been some solid, ferrous alloy. The sea is unkind to the works of either man or nature....

A very interesting shot, and a good use of Lomo Purple!

Very true - and it is wonderfully malleable.

If you really want to incite violence, start a thread about pushing film. That seems to bring out the worst in everyone.
incidencematrix.bsky.social
Hmm, how about the Canonet QL17 Mk III? Your attempts would be futile: the users would blind you with the excellently synchronized flash, and escape. (And then they would go underground and be undetectable, for they are very hip and have lots of friends.)

Peart was a legend - but the spirit lives on! I did not know him, but have to think he would have been pleased.
incidencematrix.bsky.social
These came out quite well! The light in these scenes was also fairly harsh - urban shadows are not trivial with manual metering and low-latitude film. So not the easiest place to use expired Ektachrome.
incidencematrix.bsky.social
Awesome. The more angles, the better.
incidencematrix.bsky.social
These are neither the most aesthetically pleasing nor highbrow images from this series, but it would be thematically inappropriate not to post them on Bluesky.

Black-and-white photograph of a concrete vent structure covered in graffiti reading "Don't Follow Rules," situated on a sandy coastal bluff overlooking the ocean. Vegetation surrounds the path leading toward the structure, with hills faintly visible across the water in the background. The bright midday sun casts soft shadows, emphasizing the texture of the sand and plants. Captured with a Minox 35GT-E on Ilford HP5+ film and developed in Rodinal 1:25, the image shows pronounced grain and high contrast, lending a raw, documentary feel to the coastal scene. Black-and-white photograph of a plastic trash bin with a “THANK YOU” panel on the lid. A sticker on the front of the bin reads “ANOTHER BAD CHOICE” with an image of a cartoon car. The bin sits on a sandy boardwalk area, encircled by a low rope barrier. The image, taken with a Minox 35GT-E on Ilford HP5+ film and developed in Rodinal 1:25, captures fine surface textures, scratches, and the interplay of bright sunlight and shadows on the bin’s curved surface.
