Why can't conservatives just can't handle the harsh reality of life? Wtf does being "responsible" for something have to do with being subject to it? Also arguing for a definition of discrimination by parenthetically asserting your definition as the "legal" one might feel smart but is in fact stupid

The idea that equality (the powerless getting some power) involves redress (giving the powerless some power) is apparently beyond the comprehension of the new york times' marquee conservative intellectual

Today I learned a 2020 randomized controlled trial showed that interview code tests largely filter out people who somehow weirdly find job interviews stressful

Logged on to the bad website and finally addressed the most cyberpunk issue of concern to me. People angrily @ my account there in hindi because, as far as I can tell, my youthful internet handle is also the common acronym for the Karnataka and Kerala Committees of the Indian National Congress

Mark Zuckerberg personally insisted that Facebook’s ai “companions” do sexual fantasy roleplay and be available to kids because he never got over failing to rip off Vine.

Look I'm fine with "beg the question" coming to mean "raise the question." (😭)

But it used to mean, more usefully, "make an argument that pretends its premise is true," as the vp does in this fascist tweet.

Also even if immigration were "illegal," due process IS ONLY RELEVANT TO ILLEGAL THINGS.

The Republican majority in the Pennsylvania state senate is trying to destroy public transit in Pittsburgh and Philadelphia, and the "debate" with Democrats is identical to one I had with my 4yo shortly before she destroyed the old laptop I'd given her to watch Ponyo on.

We should not listen to preening stemlord morons like Curtis Yarvin. His 'ideas' are fetid strings of parasites on the eyelids of the metaphorical Greenland shark of authoritarian urges driving more powerful men, as I assume he'd put it.

But it is funny how dumb and wrong he is about simple things.

I can easily imagine this quote, "FBI has managed to convince the DC police that this is a building that is owned by the US government," coming from the president of some other federally-funded organization, under some other absurd legal pretext, in the future.

This quote gets at a pretty basic logic problem in the “unitary executive theory.” If the executive branch regularly ignores the other branches then they are no longer the other branches, and the presidency is not a branch, or executive. It’s embarrassing sophistry.
