I have great grandparents and 2nd great grandparents from Musquodoboit NS who are first cousins. As you may know, it’s a very small place. Especially back then.

If only more people were able to do their family trees then they would see how common it is. Just 2 or 3 generations ago it was very normal (and legal) for first cousins to marry due to being in small towns without much choice, lol.

I do genetic genealogy and 2nd cousins once removed share very little DNA and are legally allowed to marry. Most people can’t even know who their 2nd cousins are.
