Magic Item #6: The Needle of Desire.

This one is heavily inspired by Into the Odd's Pierced Heart Arcanum. I adapted it for my Mythic Bastionland game, but it'll suit any OSR just fine I'd imagine.

A magic item designed for Shadowdark and other TTRPGs.

Title: Needle of Desire.

Flavor Text: A sliver of silver, cloaked in pale moon light.

Benefit: When inserted into a fresh heart, speak your desire. When held in the direction of your desire the heart beats. The heart ruptures into a gorey mess when the goal is in sight.

I finished The Left Hand of Darkness by Ursula K Le Guin yesterday. This is probably my favorite sci-fi novel! The worldbuilding, the politics, the gender norms (or lack there of) is so so rich and immersive.

I HAVE to read more Hainish Cycle. The Dispossessed, you're up next!

The gun flavors are so fun. I also love that theoretically it's a mildly useful adhesive PCs can use in a pinch!
