I see people in tech complaining about estimations all of the time. Understandably so. Estimations don't work and mean next to nothing. These two images (one from @davestewart.uk and one from Basecamp) beautifully capture the true reality of understanding work 🧵

When a project seems so simple that you write 'unlimited design revisions' in the proposal because how many could there possibly be

@bolt.new made and deployed this react kanban board in 3 hours for me.

Like if you're willing to try out a kanban board board fully made with ai 🤖

@bolt.new is probably the most fun I've ever had prototyping.

Wireframe = 3 hours (excalidraw)
React protoype 30 minutes (bolt)
Deploy: 5 minutes (also bolt)

Total: 3 hours 35 minutes

@bolt.new is so fun to play around with when exploring new ideas. At first it ran into bugs quickly but then I started understanding what prompts it likes. Been wanting to make my own kanban board that manages our agency but I can also add private todos forever so I took bolt.new for a spin

After having gone through the painful process of scaling a fairly complex webapp to 12k users and suddenly realising how hard proper business analytics are let me save you some time:

1. use postgres db
2. create a proper customer journey
3. if you want to measure it, make it a model (db table)

Yeah but what’s the one called where you keep adding the features your customers say they need and end up with a useless mess -> Spotification 👨‍💻

Failure is not good by default.
People always say failure is good but it’s not. That is obviously just a platitude.
Yes, there is good failure, but there’s also really bad failure.
Problem is, it’s really hard to differentiate positive and negative failure. Here’s a list of questions:

I've started reading the docs BEFORE I run into an issue with a library. You might be wondering what sorcery this is. Well, yes, there is a secret: I just read them at 2x speed with this chrome extension www.naturalreaders.com
