Adopt the grand Australian tradition of Democracy Sausage!

Most polling places here have a fundraiser stall by a local school or community group, selling hot BBQ sausages, cans of soda, maybe cupcakes, etc. Like a mini neighbourhood party. It's really popular - everyone loves Democracy Sausage!

I'm from Australia, so I thought it was necessary to correct some points in a variant of this meme that was doing the rounds on the 'net. This is my version. It's based on an actual Aridity Zone map.

I meant access to contacts who can help with standard academic funding via government departments, philanthropic orgs, think-tanks, individual wealthy donors, etc. Yes, it's very ironic, but that's how academic funding often works.

Almost certainly money and access to people with money. Chomsky had a history of being quite mercenary about accepting funding for his work from ideologically dubious sources.

Chomsky himself came out with a quite dubious "Yes, but..." response to the MeToo movement. I don't think it's a given that Chomsky would have seen Epstein's abuse of post-pubescent teenage girls as being particularly significant.

The hard Left has a historically messy relationship with feminism and there are still some that would throw women's rights under the bus for class solidarity. Or relegate it to something we can worry about after the revolution.

It's not a very strong paywall though. If you turn off scripts in your web browser you can see the whole page, including the video.

Sounds a bit conspiratorial in short form, but it makes real sense when you look at their abnormal recruiting and training strategies. I’m sure it’s deliberate. I wrote a 750 word rant about it if you’re interested in tackling the idea from a journalistic perspective.

My theory is that ICE is deliberately doing the opposite of normal police training. Recruiting man-babies with grievances and short fuses, not training them to keep their cool, and counting on the fact that some of them will flip out and kill random members of the public. Strategic terrorism.

I'm glad Canada is taking it seriously. Australia is taking Trump's threats against Canada very seriously indeed. We can see where this story-arc is heading...

I asked Grok if it knew what had happened to Trump at the time...

His blood needs to be kept that thin otherwise all the macdonalds-branded triglycerides in his blood would congeal into solid fat in his veins!

That's horrifying! I knew it was bad, but I didn't realise just how bad...
