Lancer TTRPG pilot commissions by Gestaltzerfall. That is me. Sometimes people might be curious "why dont you give concise information in these blurps, why is it always kind of vague?" Well, the sad truth is that alt text is used by GenAI scrapers to "tag" images. My friend, nytetyde, actually had his entire collective artwork scrubbed and fed into a GenAI model that explicitly attempts to replicate his style. So this stuff definetly affects us little people as well.

Having originally joined the L.D.H. Battlegroup with the end-goal of purchasing Vin’s cryopod from the Altruism Corpse Recovery Company, Xueyi instead finds herself confronted with the impossible: knowledge that the dead might be brought back to life.

Enter: FIREFLY – Xueyi's mech frame of choice.
Depicted, is the "FIREFLY" a mech frame shaped like a giant glorified metal chicken with beetle wings and too many hand-canons. A thermal pistol and rail-powered anti-materiel rifle are mounted in its chest and head, respectively, and its MJOLNIR canon is split between its shoulders. Heat and fuel pour out in glowing streams from its boosters.

Hé Xueyi is an ace pilot known by the callsign: “YANG”. She earned her widespread reputation piloting the star-fighter, “Snowbird”, alongside her long-time academy sweetheart, gunner and co-pilot Vignette—aka. “Vin”; callsign: “YIN”. They were inseparable. Indomitable.

That is, until they weren’t.
The image depicts a young woman in her late-20s, standing in a Jojo-esque pose, pointing a handgun just off-screen towards the viewer. Her outfit consists of a sea-green crop-top blazer worn over a similarly-cropped halter-top/choker combo, above a translucent shirt fastened to her midriff by a pair of belts. THE FALL A yin-yang in a sea of stars with juxtaposed silhouettes two figures, masculine and feminine, both falling; reaching out to each other from above and below. A line of white strikes through the symbol, connecting into and out of it, and it is also bathed in a yellow glow around the edges of its circumference. The numbers 1-4 fall along the left of that line, terminating in a red X, and align with the following summary: We travel to the Istvar system to follow the adventures and struggles of the Least Dysfunctional Hyades Battlegroup - a name, not an accomplishment - as they seek to uncover what destroyed the fourth planet nearly half a decade ago. Between the suspects of extrasolar corporate interests, the local solar feudal houses, and the remnants of past revolutions, answers are not readily forthcoming. Coordinator Oko Akintola of HYADES - a galactic-scale mercenary company that provides mechanized soldiers who forge their own mythos to serve in proxy of armies that would otherwise risk entire planets - has narrowed down the candidates for this group until there are but six remaining. Veterans of the war that lead up to Istvar IV's destruction, our protagonists bring with them the legacies and baggage of their lives, their outlooks, their hopes and dreams. Personalities clash, friendships are made, hope and loss entwine with one another as we witness the effects of their decisions and efforts upon the very face of the system - if not the galaxy itself. Drawing inspiration from Camus' works as well as media such as The King In Yellow, Signalis, Kill Six Billion Demons, and the Culture series, the Fall integrates themes and mythos from Abrahamic, Greek, and Yoruba religions to evoke an odd familiarity, and does not pull back from interrogating what it means to have to choose. A ttrpg game run in the Lancer system developed by Tom Bloom, it is still currently ongoing. It also asks at least one question: How far are you willing to go for what you want?
