Apparently that Argentinian beef is better quality than US reared beef, with a price tag to match. Destined for high-end catering establishments.

Clothes are only "stored" when I load the machine in the morning to do a wash, but get home too late to put it on. Don't like having the wet clothes in there for hours while I'm at work.

I have a top loader machine with a drum like a front loader. It has a hatch through which the clothes are loaded, but the door cannot be closed while the hatch is open. The door only closed while the machine is running. Means the machine is well aired, and no festering of clothes.

For BBC, you need the IPlayer app. That certainly asks if you have a TV licence for you to use it.
As I said in another post, I believe they ask, and disable live TV if you say you do not have a licence.
I mostly live in Germany now, but still have property in the UK that only has Prime TV devices.

If you unplug the aerial, you no longer receive broadcast TV. It won't do anything regarding streaming services over the internet.
It's been a while since I checked, but I think the apps ask if you have a TV licence. If you say "no" then the live TV selection is not possible.

If you are watching live sport, or a show that is scheduled to be broadcast, then yes.
If it's something not BBC that you select to start whenever you want, no TV licence required.

"Live TV" (ie scheduled shows broadcast at a certain date/time) and all BBC streaming services you need a TV licence for. Any other streaming service where you select a show to start whenever you want to watch it, you do not need a TV licence for.

When I turn on my TV all I see is the Prime TV menu. I have no cable/satellite box or ariel fitted. All I've watched since ditching the TV licence is on-demand shows.

As a Brit living in Germany (moved just before Brexit) I agree that ID cards do have their benefit. Due to my status, renewing and upgrading to permanent resident was a breeze.
September 26, 2025 at 6:00 PM
My understanding is that the UK gov's proposal is a digital ID scheme requiring a smartphone app, not a card. A card may be optional, but the primary mechanism is through an app.

From the TV Licencing page, "A TV Licence is your
must-have pass to live TV". Note "Live TV" in that sentence.
If you only watch on-demand streaming content from non-BBC sources, then you do not need a licence.
September 26, 2025 at 10:34 AM
From services like ITVX, Sky Go, Amazon Prime Video, YouTube, Netflix and Freely, you only need a licence if you live stream the latest series, news or sport. If what you are watching is NOT live, (ie On Demand) then you do not need a licence.

Unfortunately it's not going to be fast.
SpaceX are able to do multiple launches a week - mainly due to their ability to re-use their rocket.
Ariane 6 is not a re-useable rocket, with a launch target of a launch every 2 months.
March 5, 2025 at 9:28 PM
it's even more than that - the OneWeb sats (now part of Eutelsat) have also used Falcon9 4 times.
Since Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Europe's launch capability has been screwed.
March 5, 2025 at 9:11 PM
Last 4 launches have been on Falcon 9 - so still dependent on SpaceX until Ariane 6 proves itself.
March 5, 2025 at 9:04 PM
Unfortunately the alternatives to Starlink are relying on SpaceX to get their sats into orbit.
