Jinx even says it herself, Silco is convinced that he made “Jinx” because that was his goal, making her identity to fit alongside his own. Hopefully the Silco stans understand me here, I enjoy his writing and character too, he’s just not a good person and that’s alright— it’s compelling.

plus with the added information from S2, Silco and Jinx bonding over their almost one to one backstory is more fodder for their enmeshment. They relate so heavily to eachother, Silco projects completely on her.

it constantly reminds the audience that even with the fact Silco cares for her, he is actively preying on her and her life. He is not a good father, but he is a loving one; because of how he sees himself in her.

people latch onto the fatherly part of Silco while ignoring the purpose that it serves. They’re using that bond of father and daughter to display the lack of boundaries that /should/ define their relationship.

for something they couldn’t fix or never understood in the first place despite how Piltover pits them against eachother.

They couldn’t change their beginning, because of Piltover’s perpetuation of the poverty and discrimination in Zaun, but in the end they break that cycle because they no longer blame themselves or eachother +

When to allow them to heal, the pacing of that, so on are not easy to decide especially with the cuts they had to make. I think it could’ve been quite beautiful for the doomed narrative to be healed through the presence of love, returning back to general theme of s1. +

could’ve been done in a less rushed manner, etc… various other improvements, it makes sense for people to be confused on why Vi and Jinx’s ending went the way it did, not getting the siblings that they wanted— it’s often a problem in shows dealing with morally grey and dysfunctional people +

Their bond is a “do-over” in the most important ways to them.

They give eachother what they needed, or lost. For Isha, Jinx is most likely the closest thing to a parental figure for them, which is why they would call her “mama.” Meanwhile for Jinx, they mend the broken sibling bond that she lost with Vi (at the time.)

Anyway that’s just some of my thoughts on this scene and why people interpret it the way they do, or use it as an avenue to dislike Jayce’s character. (adding this here from my twitter acc.)

Meanwhile Jayce would happily support him in any way possible, and this action includes that. He takes up this responsibility as an act of love, and trying his best to show his care by being the face of their work. We simply don’t see his perspective of this scene, which makes him look oblivious. +

The embodiment of Piltover’s reaction to Viktor, that the audience sees, would be Mel. The way she outright ignores his existence and only focuses on / addresses Jayce probably confirms this to Viktor that it would be a bad idea for him to be a public representative of Hextech. +

about how he would be perceived by the whole of Piltover swallow him whole. It’s another large facet of his descent into trying to “fix” himself. And it makes perfect sense for him to have these thoughts because a majority of Piltover would doubt him, or belittle, or infantilize him in some way. +

He doesn’t fight it at all, respecting Viktor’s wishes, and the “Man of Progress” cup replace Vik. The key part of this is not the fact that Jayce is doing it, however, it’s the fact that V’s insecurities and self-deprecating nature (which is most likely worsening with his condition) +
