Lots still don't have them. Some states farted around until the last second to implement procedures, expense to obtain one prohibits lower income people from getting them, and some who don't fly (like me), can't justify the need for one.

That's assuming if you're flying. Other forms of transportation-- bus, AMTRAK, or even driving yourself--do not require Real ID.
Since I don't fly I have no need for one.

If you insist on coming here against advice, make sure you are capable of defending yourself by any means necessary. DO NOT TRUST anyone unidentifiable, even in Cosplay. If they can't/won't produce ID upon request they are potentially dangerous to you. Know how to call attention in public.

I also pointed out that REAL ID was only meant for people who wanted to fly or enter certain government buildings, NOT to vote. I don't intend to fly anywhere, so I'd have no use for REAL ID.

I spoke with Senator Bill Hagerty's office this morning. The person on the other end tried to tell me that. I shot back with, "but it's not like every individual can just whip out their birth certificates or marriage license upon request, as if someone demands to see it at random."

Defend yourself any way you can. That means if you are leaving your home and going out in public, you have the ability to protect yourself or loved ones from strangers who accost you. Use apps that help verify badges. If someone won't identify themselves treat them as a danger. Yell FIRE for notice.
