At #PyData London @inesmontani.bsky.social confirms our suspicions that we should try not to work with PDFs directly. Do the expensive extraction upfront into a unified structured format and build all your analysis and #NLP components yourself so you can better modularise

Oh cool, did you ever publish anything about your perspective and experiences? Would love to read this! PDFs are definitely an interesting rabbit hole and I ended up reading a lot about the history & spec in preparation. (Preview is my go-to and IMO the superior tool for visually editing/combining!)
