Hi, and welcome!
I have two BlueSky accounts.
This one is for my photos (and others') and other nice things.

The other account, @infinite8horizon2.bsky.social, is for politics and not-so-nice things. Choose wisely, and check the auto-complete.

Bio is the same (it's me!), link in profile.
Enjoy.

Not one, but two roses for you 🤍

Two white roses who are nearing the end of their bloom, patels widely spread open.

Lovely pattern and symmetry 😊🙏

Oh, true. I assumed they were feeding on some local swarm, but at that distance it was impossible to say. It was interesting behavior though, not flying in formation and not going anywhere, a huge flock.

My pleasure, Alan. Not your typical bird shot, I know, but that was as close as they got 🤣. Barely visible to the naked eye.

Click in, not a dirty lens...
Amazing birds in a huge, wheeling flock, very high.
White-throated needletails, spend much of their lives on the wing, travelling from southern Siberia to southern Oz

🤣
It's true that strangler figs are not sharers, quite the opposite, but it's interesting how much we're learning even now about the subtle communication and sometimes cooperation both at treetops and even more so in root systems and companion ecologies... but that's its rock 😄

Good Morning!
I've seen fire, and I've seen rain

Good times and bad times, sunshine and rain, yin and yang, beauty in everything
#photography #landscape #sunrise #cloudscape #BaldKnob #gift #EastCoastKin
A gentle pink sunrise with soft, high clouds is contrasted by a low heavy cumulus not far above the sea, with a very obvious downpour falling from one section into the ocean. The sky overhead is blue and clear, and the plains below are still dark save for the shining patch of a large dam. A line of coastal lights marks the boundary between land and sea, and the whole image is heavily framed left and right by tree silhouettes. The rain will pass, and so will the sunrise, life is change, embrace the journey.

Beautifully captured 🤩🙏

My pleasure to share it, Marjan 🙏😊

No carats, just figs 😄
(A rough estimate would be around 5,000,000 carats 🤣)

Gorgeous serried mountains, and the lake is such a wonderful colour 💙

Indeed. Reminded me of the pictures you always see of Angkor Wat and other abandoned temples like that, where the fig trees have just poured themselves over the masonry, almost more beautiful than the original somehow.

Good Morning!
Mooloolah Valley mist #8

A serene morning to you
#photography #landscape #scape #mist #mooloolah #BaldKnob #gift #repost #EastCoastKin
High view over a mist-shrouded valley, white mist contrasting with the dark treed ridges emerging from the flowing white river. On the distant horizon large massed cumulus over the sea are slowly lightening from gray as a faint apricot lights the sky behind them, while barely green silhouettes of nearby trees and shrubs frame the foreground.

A large boulder is completely embraced by the flowing roots of a strangler fig, like some giant gemstone in an organic setting.

Thank you 🙏
I was just responding to your bet 😄

Someone once explained to me there was only a sole difference, but I can't remember what.

Thank you very much, Jason, much appreciated 🙏
