Three days into the new year and I just called my Congressional reps to do something. Unfortunately my reps here stink but at least they got my message about my displeasure on what recently occurred.

Final posts of 2025. Been juggling between gaming and writing today. I haven't posted a lot in the second half so my write ups so far have gone longer than I typically type up. As of my GOTY, aiming for late Jan. Working through two longer games I hope to finish soon to finalize a shortlist.

Only got a few days around Christmas and New Years off from work this year. It'll be a mix of gaming catch up and blog writing when I can.

2025 Music Concert 13 - Fri Dec 12, They Are Gutting a Body of Water at First Unitarian Church. Good show. You probably can tell from my pics that the band played on the ground floor within the crowd. Crowd was pretty respectful to not bother the band while they performed.

Little disappointed that new lists and blogs on the new Giant Bomb site is behind a subscription. While I'm glad GB is where it's at, I haven't been compelled to subscribe there. I'll have to track my game completion list elsewhere since that and GOTY is all I've used GB for post-COVID.

Finally got a short work week. Going to spend Wed night looking through the games to see what games I want to play and see to. There's been a bunch of games released recently and upcoming that I do want to get into but stinks I can only get through a couple at a time.

2025 Music Concert 12 - Fri Nov 21, American Analog Set at First Unitarian Church Sanctuary. Decent show. Their music along with the venue kind of made the setting a low-key trance. Still got a decent view from the seats my bro and I managed to get. Also glad it was only them, finished at 10 PM.

2025 Music Concert 11 - Fri Nov 14, Jens Lekman at Underground Arts, Philly. Solid, chill concert. Main set was all songs from his latest LP, encore was a batch of his well known singles. The narrator provided some context behind some of the songs.

2025 Music Concert 10 - Sat Oct 18, Grandaddy at Union Transfer, Philly. Fantastic concert by the band. First set was a playthrough of The Sophtware Slump (25th annivarsary) and the second was playing their other stuff (A.M. 180, etc.).

It looks like the bottom is starting to come out from the really big gaming companies. The news from EA and MSFT last week makes you wonder how much longer they'll be around.
I hope smaller manned studios still get the support to get their games out the door where I put my $ and time to.

I have to get myself out of Amazon Prime. While I still have it, I watched the Look Back anime and got pretty emotional (very teary eyed). Loved it so much I bought the manga it was from.
I'll try to watch some of CITY while my Prime sub is still active.

2025 Music Concert 09 - Sun Sept 28, Geordie Greep at Mummer's Museum, Philly. Solid show though kinda petered out the band stretching out album material to two hours. Also stunk half the band played on the floor so couldn't see them at ground level. Had to go up to take my lone shot.

Also stinks with the shifting of ownership of EVO after the main event concluded, particularly the portion where Saudi Arabia invested in the RTS. I haven't watched much EVO in recent years and this development solidifies my dwindling enthusiasm for the event.

Out of the two new ninja games, I haven't finished Shinobi but I am loving it way more than Ninja Gaiden which I did finish. Thought NG was decent all the way through. Shinobi is hitting me much harder on every aspect. The only thing tripping me up a bit is all the different mechanics/specs.

It's been tough, but I know I gotta do more to flex my voice on the issues at hand. Shout out to those who continue to do the work on voicing out all the BS out there, whether it's these BS bills in Congress, the payment processors crap, messing with local public transportation, etc.

2025 Music Concert 08 - Sun Sept 07, Unwound at First Unitarian Church, Philly. Nice to catch them live again, a bit rougher this go round but still pretty good. Played The Future of What in full then three of their well known songs before bowing out.

I finalized a letter to Mastercard and ready to send it out tomorrow. It's been tough and I'm doing what I can to be active in some form on these matters. I focused on MC as that's my primary use via my bank's credit card but there's the other major ones to hit soon.

Unless a miracle happens before end of day tomorrow, I'll have to prep for SEPTA's severe decreased service. I shouldn't be surprised that PA Senate Rs (including the one that serves my district) only proposed a band-aid solution. I can still make due with my commute but the cuts still suck.

I haven't watched much of EVO so far or of the other major US FGC tournaments. I still enjoy watching Top 8s but I've been less inclined to watch much of streaming FGC in the past few years. I sure as hell ain't going to stay up to watch top 8 SF at 11 PM Eastern tonight.
