it's a shame shane acker never went on to direct any other big projects. from what I can tell he still works as an animator and pre-viz artist but he had the sauce. Ebert compared this movie favorably to Miyazaki films but we never really got anything else from him

A good thing to remember is that the US military has about 1.5 million active duty servicemen and women which sounds like a lot until you remember there are 350 million Americans. Military occupation of the USA will never work. A logistical impossibility.
