"Risen" is mostly jesus slop but there's a scene where the main character is talking with one of the guards who saw jesus rise from the dead and the guard is absolutely fucked up from it. Blackout drunk, crying about how it was the most terrifying experience of his whole life. It's a great scene

If it wasn't so existentially dangerous and fucked up it would be kinda of funny that the new Japanese PM decided her first month in office was a good time to get up in parliament and go "and another thing! I think Japan should militarily intervene in Taiwan!"

So there's a bigass statue out in the California desert related to SOMETHING getting revealed next week at the game awards and people are losing their minds over whether or not it's TES VI related. If it is, it could point to something kind of neat

Sometimes I think about how the ending to this Ligotti short story ("The Frolic") is maybe the most terrifying thing I've ever read

writing this book really is just me sitting down every day and 9 times out of 10 I get done and think "that was terrible" but 1 time out of 10 I think "oh shit I cooked" and it's the 1 in 10 that keeps me going

An underrated running gag in Pluribus is how every time we get a glimpse of Carol's actual writing it's bad (obviously, she would admit as much) but bad in a very specific way that tells me Vince Gilligan has actually read a lot of romantasy

OK here's the mono green commander deck! The creature base can literally be anything you find in your local game store's bulk bin that has 4 or more power because Goreclaw makes them cost 2 generic mana less. You can pack this deck full of absolute garbage creatures and it still shines
$25 Green Deck Wins - Commander (Goreclaw, Terror of Qal Sisma)
A deck created using Moxfield.

If you read any book by an immigrant written in the last 50 years one of the central conflicts is always how quickly and naturally their children adopt American culture. The problem is they assimilate too fast! They like iphones and youtube and memes and burger too much!
Stephen Miller is now arguing that assimilation is fundamentally impossible and that certain cultures are not compatible with Western civilization
