1-2 Samuel is a game of thrones level story worthy of a book or tv series but it absolutely cannot be adapted by Christians lmao

The scene starts like 3 minutes in to this clip. The creepy ass music and the way he talks about the resurrection like he witnessed an alien abduction is a really interesting way to frame it. Joseph Fiennes is great too but that kinda goes without saying

He just has this really well acted and written monologue where he's like "I've seen some shit working for the Roman empire but stop asking me about what happened at the tomb, I want to forget I ever saw it"

I didn't do it, but I'm not ashamed of doing it, and it was good that I did it

They apply this to (among other things): relationships, driving, work, voting, grocery shopping, and any sort of social interaction you can think of. "I have to win all the time and no one gets to tell me what to do" but you're 45 years old and there's 100 million of you. Recipe for disaster.

And when I look at conservatives in America I see a whole population of people who never moved on from that adolescent "fuck you, I don't have to do what the teacher tells me" attitude. Every interaction is a power struggle, and giving even an inch to another person means you're a pussy

I work with middle schoolers and high schoolers. A lot of them don't like their teachers, and some even relish the opportunity to have conflict with them to see what they can get away with and how much pushback they will receive. This is normal behavior for children, but not for adults

Roth invokes the old chain mail story of "marine todd" (a marine in a college classroom punching his teacher for being an atheist) as a sort of founding myth of modern conservatism and I think he's spot on with that for a number of reasons.

Like, on the list of "things you really don't want to say if you are the Japanese PM" that's gotta be just under "we're invading manchuria". Great way to piss off like 90% of the population for no reason

I definitely prefer hand crafted worlds over anything generated by a program but if that tech HAS to be in TES (which I imagine it will) hopefully it comes in a form like this
December 1, 2025 at 9:50 PM
IF this is associated with her, maybe this is how Todd Howard will work his beloved procedural generation tech into TES: an alternate plane the player can visit that is different each time they show up. I would certainly prefer something like that to, say, a starfield style procedural world

Vaermina is the daedric prince of sleep, dreams, and nightmares, often depicted in statues with a serpent nearby. She rules over a plain of oblivion called Quagmire (giggidy) which is described as a nightmarish place that is constantly shifting and changing

Some people have pointed out similarities between the desert statue and this statue you can acquire in the elder scrolls online that is associated with Vaermina, a daedric prince
