I don't disagree necessarily but if you had sat out the dotcom bubble as soon as Greenspan stated his concerns you would have lost several insane growth years. Timing the market is a fools errand; just keep money you need in 5 years or less out. We don't know the future of LLM based AI.

I toss in a tiny amount of baking soda, really speeds things up - depends on the recipe though (makes em purdy jammy)

I've been thinking a lot about the actual short story lately. When I was younger it just seemed like a cool read. Now I can't stop noticing the parallels in so many areas.. fossil fuel especially

Sadly I don't think it's possible, and it's going to come down to partisan "their" experts vs "our" experts for stuff that matters. Post truth era..

I got turned off by the placement of dialogue box and the developer being like "it's the perfect place and cannot be changed, shut up". Got tired of craning my head constantly to play the game

I believe it, and it's easy to see the shell game going on with NVDA lending money to companies to use their chips, but IMO there's nothing really to do but buy cheap diversified index funds and hold for long term. Maybe up the emergency fund a bit.

I kinda get the point; wittingly or no, we get swept up in technological evolution. Story of human history. However this technology is fundamentally flawed (hallucinations, lack of repeatability) & created by massive theft while using insane electricity. LLM AI is a dead end in the field anyway

I'm extremely concerned - even a whiff of "cooking the books" and politicizing financial data is going to be disastrous. Once the world stops trusting the US financial markets (even less trust) it's going to be complete chaos

I feel like it's another "disaster capitalism" play; trigger recession, swoop in with hoarded cash & buy distressed assets cheap, let the "grownups" come in and clean up the mess with necessary but unpopular moves. Then blame the mess-cleaners.

My mom lives in a small, very far right community. No real theft/issues of any kind. The neighbor won't cross the street to check mail without strapping on a firearm. Was complaining he needs a new gun safe because it's too full of guns/ammo. Peoples brains have been warped by NRA / Fox et al. Fear!
