Document your government interactions. I am an experienced government worker and felt I knew the system well. But the child welfare system is a different animal. Make sure you keep accurate records of all you do. Record meetings if possible to prevent misunderstandings.

Foster care & adoption. Over the past year we have worked towards adopting a teen. The process, Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC), is broken and slow.. as is most of the child welfare system. I am praying to get through this soon and have her in our home.
