Maybe sanding off the corrosion is all he needs.

Maybe a clean will help. I don't know. My other Arthur doesn't run at all..

Motor swap? Maybe.

Entry Three: 2009 Mattel Duck
Issue #1: Slow Runner, even on Fresh Batteries
Issue #2: Sort of Weak. Stalls with Light Load

A basic clean might help.. I'm not sure. C Battery Tomy/Trackmasters are new to me.

Entry Two: 2009 Mattel Percy

Issue #2 - Makes Cracking Noises When Switched Off
Issue #3 - Minor Battery Corrosion (Not Very Bad)
Issue #4 - Stops Responding to Battery Randomly

I can sand off the corrosion, but that doesn't change the odd noise, etc

First Entry: 2006 HiT Toy Company Edward
Issue #1 - Weak Runner, Even on New Batteries
Issue #2 - Can Barely Pull ANYTHING, Cutting Out Frequently
Issue #3 - Derails on Points Often, Even When Set Right

Battery contacts are clean. They aren't loud. I don't have a soldering iron. Motor swap maybe?
