Ink, Coffee, and Regrets

A podcast for the curious, candid, and creatively unhinged. Writing, reading, world-building, & the weird emotional terrain between author and audience—with sardonic wit, philosophical detours, and no patience for genre clichés.
Good attitude. Sometimes the harder you think about something, the more distant the answer becomes. Kind of like Presque vu. The mind is a strange critter sometimes, methinks.

Just write... the title will come to you. Sometimes when you least expect it.

Like Elton John... "This song has no title, just words and a tune."

Wasn't "Dr. Phill" supposed to be on Trump's cabinet too? Thought I heard that somewhere.

Now you just need a hat, glasses and a little zinc-oxide for the tip of the nose and you are good to go. Ready to hit the beaches of Rio!

I will listen to them, but I find something more in just sitting down in a comfortable chair and opening a book and turning pages.

My wife will try to listen to an audiobook, but less that five minutes in she is dead asleep. Same thing when I try reading to her. :-)

I've listened to audiobooks often, but I feel that I get more out of a physical book than I do from an audiobook.

Sorry... I was not prepared with stats and numbers, I was going by casual conversations with people I work with and how many of them, in a school district no less, just don't read.

I'm not a scientist, but I did stay at a Comfort Inn Select last night!

Could never read with a cat. The ones I had in the past were very prone to deciding that the book on my lap is the perfect place to sleep.

I have that habit too. Notorious for getting to the airport four hours before my flight, and for domestics too. On the upshot, though, gives me time to sit and write. :-)

Agreed. I cannot tell you how many people, especially younger ones, that I talk about all the books I have read in my life and their response is usually something like, "Really? I don't read." They might listen to the audiobook, if one is there, but that is just not the same.

I know it’s late, as in I missed watching it for Halloween, but might watch it tonight!

I will admit that I knew nothing about this movie until I saw "Deathproof", after that I had to watch it and I was not disappointed.

Granted... it was a 1970s movie with ideas and statements had past, but it was still a fun watch.

Ghost Story was one of the first times I found that I loved the movie just as much as I loved the book. Yeah, there were differences, but they were both spectacular.

Reminds me of when I over stay my time in the shower and my wife lets me know that it is her turn.

Never thought about Dollar General for books.

I know the author does not get their due when I do this, but my favorite place to pick up books is at a used book store.

There is something so nice about a previously loved book. Especially if you find one with notes in it.

Sometimes the meals that LOOK like a complete mess have the best flavor!

Look at jambalaya.

I would add school lunches to that as well. I have seen the crap they feed my son in school and brought him he lunch as often as I could, or packed him a lunch.

It's about benchmarks.

Some people base the value of their lived on how many people they influence or lift up.

Then there are those like this who base the value of their life on how much they can own or acquire.

I know which live the better lives, emotionally and spiritually, though. :-)
