just finished playing through Guns of Fury, an indie Metal Slug and Contra inspired metroidvania from a tiny team. it was a good time! very satisfying to run around and blow everything up, not too hard or too easy. would recommend it to any fans of the genre.

oh the studio behind the franchise is on a skeleton crew at this point, Warner Brothers is their publisher and cancelled a game which hit them hard. last game in the series was a party game made by a different studio that reviewed poorly.

saw The Wild Robot and it got to me for some reason? yeah the themes of choosing to be something other than what you were meant to be, of giving everything you have to help others, of choosing the feminine role you weren't supposed to have got to me I guess??? also it's a good, very pretty movie too
