In the 90s, when feminists were highlighting the problem of 'date rape', there was a pushback from people (not just open MRAs) asking "how would you police it?" They'd start ranting about needing contracts, filmed encounters etc. or else wouldn't just women accuse any man at random? >

The Handmaid's Tale is a good book. But did you know that there's a book written by a Black woman about a post-apocalyptic Earth heavily affected by climate change and societal decline. The book was published in 1993, but is set in 2024 following a presidential election 👀 #BookSky #BlackBookSky

Yes, this also disturbed me. A really distressing, to me, aspect of the Me Too backlash has been the return of the unspeakableness of sexual violence—so that we’ve gone back to a situation where men accused of doing horrific things to women get to profit off a taboo against anyone mentioning it.
@moiradonegan.bsky.social If you get a chance, would you and Adrian discuss how sickening it is to see all these ‘progressive’ men praising Mike Tyson, a man who actually went to prison for rape and who beat his wife half to death? Why does anyone praise that monster?
