My favorite are guys very devoted to one single tool brand like r/milwaukeetools, where people spend $500 on a tool whose function they don’t yet understand

I’m done arguing with someone who clearly does not understand the nature of the healthcare system in America. I support a political effort to make healthcare publicly funded and available for everyone, good luck with whatever convoluted private scheme you think is somehow more politically appetizing

If conservatives decided birth control shouldn’t be covered, people would have to pay for it privately… WHICH THEY ALREADY DO! You’re arguing against improving one of the worst healthcare systems on earth, I refuse to agree that public healthcare is not possible and not better than our system.

That ALREADY HAPPENS! The government already has legislation about what care must be covered and what is elective, we just funnel it through a system that extracts maximum profit without caring for health outcomes.

Again, the problem is not that clams are denied. No one thinks that public healthcare means it’s free and everyone lives forever. The problem is that ALL healthcare is going to involve denials, and private healthcare ADDS the incentive that claims be denied for profit margins and adds no value.

We’ve had Medicare in this country for longer than most people have been alive and it is still functioning and an electoral third rail. I think your standpoint is elitist and reductive

You think the public in general is too stupid to have the government run healthcare? Every other comparable nation on earth figured it out but Americans are uniquely unequipped to handle it 👍 bold and mind blowing indeed

Yes? Just because conservatives win elections doesn’t mean we should strike for less democratic interventions into the systems that rule our lives. The alternative is definitionally anti democratic

Obviously any system large enough requires standardization and rationalization, the crux is that it would be better if the people who make those calls were answerable to some kind of democratic process rather than whatever will increase profit margins and stock prices. Obtuse to conflate the two
