it's not clear what the debt (or debts) are from reports this month... but they've certainly racked up debts from sponsors, and also the social security/government in years past too, gave the alarm bell a ring a couple of times before, eg inrng.com/2024/10/inte...

...and sometimes he would drink the tea, gargle... and then spit it back in the cup before taking to his chef. He lasted two months and went into sports TV.
He was from the Gard in the South of France and died in an "abrivado", a festival in the Camargue/wider area involving bull running and horses.

He worked in the 2-star Michelin restaurant of Gordon Ramsay, a celebrity chef. He said he saw a pâtissier with a broken nose for getting a dessert wrong. He said the chef later humiliated Di Grazia in front of everyone. So Di Grazia got revenge. He had to bring the chef cups of tea each day...

...but he'd just left Eurosport after first being suspended in May and then an investigation into his conduct. Remember an interview with L'Equipe where he said after becoming a father at the age of 18 he did some small jobs then went to London to learn English... www.lequipe.fr/Medias/Artic... (🇫🇷)

RIP Guillaume Di Grazia who has died after an accident in a village festival. He'd been French Eurosport's lead cycling commentator for several years and a lively presence with Jacky Durand and David Moncoutié both on live and the Rois de la Pédale and Bistrot Vélo shows...

thanks, sounds like the main things in place but they have issues to sort out

it also depends on what paperwork goes in by the deadline. Basically if the team misses the deadline completely then yes, but if they put in the headline documents (sponsorship contracts + bank guarantee filed) but others are missing, then harder to move

that was down to the small print in her contract, it's not automatic. Only a few riders likely to be able to pick and chose among other teams if it comes to this... but the star names so all the more reason to sort this quickly if they can

...15 October is the UCI deadline for a lot of the registration and paperwork for next year's licence but there's been leniency (and late filing fines) before if a team needs time to resolve issues, has gone to December before.

Clock ticking on the Lotto Intermarché teams merger with UCI deadline this month. HLN reports obstacles remain, especially debt, staff issues and having a surplus of riders under contract for next year www.hln.be/wielrennen/2... (🇳🇱,€)

All teams have three letter UCI codes and the team has had UAD since 2017. Like to think it was old Lampre management that made a typo on the form but think it's linked to old team name of UAe abu Dhabi

Track sprinter Lin Junhong provisionally suspended after a test for steroids. Don't usually share much track news but the sample collection date is from the eve of the Asian champs in 2016. Could be retesting of old samples but that's just a guess, it looks like an unusual case

...Wagner wanted to buy the business back and he could still do this keep the team going (plus there's main story of the factory and workers but here to talk about 🚲). Number of Belgian men's teams already shrinking with Lotto & Intermarché trying to merge, Flanders-Baloise to stop after next year.

Concerns for the Wagner Bazin team via @charlesmarsault.bsky.social after Philippe Wagner ousted from the Bazin company. Wagner's long been a benefactor of the sport via his charcuterie business so if he's been removed the team's big backer is gone, new management may cut back on sports sponsorship

Tadej Pogačar (UAE) wins the Tre Valli Varesine race for the second time after 2022. He led the move to stop the race last year during a downpour but promised the organiser he'd return. If he wins Lombardia this Saturday he'll finish the season with 20 wins

...redoing this post after getting confused by the rule changes. Here's the rule for 2026 grabbed from the UCI website, three auto invites and two wildcards left for the grand tours...

One point between Cofidis and TotalEnergies on the UCI rankings out today. If Cofidis gets relegated from the World Tour then normally the best 3 teams outside World Tour get automatic invites to big races. Tudor & Q36.5 are well ahead so these two French teams after the third spot and it's close...
