A few years ago I was scraping the ice off the windscreen (windshield? 😊) of my car

My neighbour Julie came out to do the same

One of the joys of parenthood is seeing your kids take up something you never did

Both my sons are avid birdwatchers

I would sit for hours reading my newspaper whilst they watched

They still do in their 40s

They know birds like I know soccer teams

They know those too mind

Generations of my family spent their life in a 30 mile radius of our house

Only those who fought in the wars went abroad

My mum was 50 before she went to London and 60 before she flew

I’ve got out and about a little 😊

But we are who we are aren’t we 👍

Thought about your story a lot

My family lived in the same street since it was built in the 1880s until my mum died in 2020.

She was born in the house next door where my gran and grandad lived

My gran the youngest of 15

I haven’t lived there for 47 years

But that, indelibly, is where I’m from
